Summertime in Casares

Ferias and fiestas:

May:

Starts of with the Romeria de la virgen Rosario del campo: 21-22 may.

Which is celebrated on the countryside. The virgen Rosario is carried to her

Ermita and with that acomplished the whole village celebrate with music and

dance.

June:

Verbena de San Juan: Celebrated on the beach of Casares in front of the

urbanization Marina de Casares. It’s a celebration the longest day and

shortest night of the year. Bonfires are lit where you are supposed to through

away symbols of the past that you want to get rid of and clean out. As a step

to total cleanse you then are supposed to take a bath in the ocean, walking

backwards. However it’s a big party with animations and music, something to

experience.

July: In the end of July the sister village of Casares “El secadero” celebrates

Feria de El Secadero.

Agosto:

Feria de Casares: Five days of party day and night where the

inhabitants all come out to celebrate and dance in the streets.

To cool down:

Community pool at the bottom of the village. Only 10 min to Casares beach,

large broad beach with 3 great restaurants. A chiringuito, an Italian fish

restaurant and the very exclusive Finca Cortesin beachclub with pool.
